Fred Thalmann

Managing Director

Fred Thalmann joined Silvercrest as a Managing Director as a result of the merger with Jamison Eaton & Wood. He began his investment career in 1970 with Marine Midland Bank in Troy, NY where he became CIO before joining Marine Midland’s institutional investment management group in NYC. In 1980, Mr. Thalmann joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust where he was responsible for assets over $1 billion. Mr. Thalmann joined the investment management consulting firm, Callan Associates, in 1982 where he served as Sr. Vice President and East Coast Regional Manager. In 1984, he left Callan Associates to work with Alan Greenspan on a new investment management company focused on obtaining investment management business from large pension funds. Mr. Thalmann joined The Boston Company in 1986 and transferred to its New York offices in April 1991, where he was President of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company of NY. Fred holds a BS in Finance from Syracuse University (1968) and served as a CO in the U.S. Navy, including service in Vietnam.
